Iron Thorn Summer Tattoo Workshop
July 19th - 20th, 2024
Workshop Day 1:
Presentation by Connor Shiffert on Cover-Ups. This includes cover-ups of scars, old tattoos, stretch marks and skin blemishes. We will be going over how to design cover-ups, which candidates will make for a successful cover-up, and when to look into lightening an old tattoo and which method of lightening will work best for the process.
Workshop Day 2:
Lauren Monforte will present on Symmetry and Body Mapping, featuring a live stencil demonstration of creating large-scale compositions. The presentation will cover designing dynamic tattoos that compliment various body types while ensuring proper flow and movement.
Both Days:
After each presentation, we will have a Q&A before we break for a catered lunch.
The remainder of each day will be channeling the energy into hands-on small groups. Both Connor and Lauren will be doing small groups on a variety of topics throughout the day. There will be 2 group activities each day and will be a relaxed come and go experience.
Topics for small groups will include but not limited to:
How to create a voice for your work and develop your own style
Composition and Design improvement
Color Theory and Contrast: how to use it to tattoo different complexions.
Fundamental troubleshooting: improving your technical ability
Streamlining your booking process and improving the client experience.

Early bird pricing for the workshop is $1000 and is non-refundable.
Seating will be very limited as we want to make sure everyone gets the attention and feedback they’re looking for. Artists should bring their iPads and/or notebooks to draw, as well as their equipment to tattoo. We will supply everything else.
